Sun Damage
Excessive UV exposure also leads to premature collagen loss and thinning skin. The skin appears blothchy due variable pigmentation and telangiectasia. The youthful translucency of youth is lost and all the signs worsen with age. Collagen and elastin loss also leads to increasing lines and wrinkles

Understanding the Main Causes of Sun Damage
Who doesn’t love a good sunbathing session on a hot summers' day? Sadly, sun damage is one of the leading causes of ageing, and proper skincare treatments are crucial to maintaining that youthful glow which we all love.
What You Should Know about Sun Spot Treatment
Many are under the impression that skin damage starts from a matured age. However, sun damage does not discriminate and can affect both young and old. Hence, it is important to establish a great skincare routine from a young age and take measures to protect your skin before damages start to occur. We always say prevention is better than cure.
- Discolouration: You will identify sunspots as patches of discolouration on your skin. These darkened patches are formed as a defence mechanism to protect it against harmful UV rays.
- Melanin: When you spend a lot of time in the sun, your skin produces more melanin than it usually would. This is the chemical which is responsible for producing pigment which results in darker skin. A layer of dark skin forms to shield the underlying skin layers from undergoing further damage. The pigment leads to uneven skin tones which often results in freckles and sun spots.

How Much do You Know About UV Damage Treatment?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation can come directly from the sun or other sources such as tanning beds and welding torches and are known to cause skin damage. Research has shown that UV rays from the sun are strongest between 8 am and 10 am and generally during spring and summer. Overexposure to UV rays has been shown to contribute to skin cancer. We offer UV damage treatment to prevent and curb the effects of UV damage which are caused over time.
Common Misconceptions about Sun Spot Treatment:
- You Need Vitamin D from the Sun. Vitamin D is great, and studies have shown that it might even be beneficial in lowering the risk of some cancers. However, most people still believe that their best source of vitamin D comes from the sun, which is not entirely true.
- Vitamin D can be derived from food sources and Vitamin supplements which could be healthier than exposing yourself to the sun's harmful rays. These sources also do limit your risk of skin cancer.
- Sun Protection is for everyone. Young and old should be investing in a good sunscreen which should be used on a daily basis. Even on cloudy days, 80 percent of ultraviolet rays can seep through cloud coverage. Bear in mind that snow, sand, and water all reflect UV rays.
